Heather Roberts was born and raised in central Illinois. After graduating from high school she went on to attend college at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. While there she studied Elementary Education and received her Bachelor of Arts degree. Upon graduating she moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and taught second grade in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District for six years. Heather and her husband, TJ, then moved back to central Illinois to be closer to family and to begin a family of their own. They wanted to teach them the same values they were brought up with when they were younger. After teaching for another year, Heather was then able to be a stay at home mom to Brock and Jillian.
Having kids and some extra time, Heather turned to blogging and party planning which ultimately led to a career with WCIA. She became the “Cupcake Lady” on the 7pm news on WCIX once a month sharing party ideas and different cupcake recipes. When the program went from an hour to a half hour the segment was cut, but it opened another door, ciLiving. Heather has been called the “accidental TV star” by chambanmoms.com where she was featured as a “Mom to Know” and was voted Champaign-Urbana’s favorite TV personality.
In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, going on bike rides with Brock and Jillian, being active in her church, baking cupcakes, and indulging in a few good reality TV shows.
